Alwena Luff, or Weni, is our Assistant Psychologist who specialises in our neurodiversity diagnostic assessments services.
In 2017, she finished her degree in Psychology at the University of Bristol.
Following this, she completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Neurodevelopmental Sciences at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, which finished in 2021.
From 2021 to 2023, she served as a Learning Support Assistant as part of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team. In this role, she supported Speech and Language Therapists in a mainstream school in Surrey, focusing particularly on the newly established Emotional Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA) inclusion provision, where she worked individually with children struggling to attend school.
Additionally, she underwent narrative training at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), completing bead work training in 2022 and Tree of Life training in 2024.
In the autumn of 2022, she began working as a Youth Worker, assisting children and young people (CYP) aged 10 to 25 at a local Accident & Emergency (A&E) department, providing support during emotional crises. In 2023, she took on the role of Assistant Psychologist, initially at the Royal London Hospital, where she supported individuals who had experienced both physical and psychological trauma.
She later worked with the Community Learning Disability team, using screening tools for dementia.
In October 2023, she joined a highly regarded NHS provider to contribute to a new pathway aimed at reducing waiting times at a Child Development Centre in East London.
Her current focus is primarily on the diagnostic assessment of Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
